SingleHöhle

SingleHöhle is a micro duct for the installation of optical fibre cables. The product is designed and produced for use over a very long period of time – at least 50 years – and enables optical fibre cables to be installed and replaced until the end of the useful life of the product.

Direct Bury - DB-grade - micro ducts have thick walls and would tolerate the load arising from installation in the ground, while Direct Install - DI-grade - micro ducts are designed for use with additional load protection and are suitable for installation into existing cable channels.

SingleHöhle is made from high-density polyethylene. The inner surface of the micro duct has qualities that make installing fibre optical cables significantly easier – longitudinal grooves and selected silicon-based materials do minimize the frictional resistance between the inner surface of the pipe and the outer surface of the optical fibre cable. These qualities are retained throughout the useful life of the product. This enables fibre optical cables to be installed using the blowing method where  great lengths of cable – ranging from 1000-2000 metres or more – can be laid in one go.

SingleHöhle micro ducts range in diameter from 5-16 mm and come in different wall thicknesses depending on their area of use (DB or DI). Wall thickness can also be tailored according to the customer needs. Micro ducts come in many colours and are available as single-colour items or in natural white with  coloured stripes. They are packaged on drums.

Micro ducts meet the requirements of the EN 50411-6-1, EN 60794 and IEC 60794 standards.

MultiHöhle

MultiHöhle is a bundle of micro ducts for the installation of optical fibre cables. Depending on the customer needs there are available 2, 4, 7, 12, 19 or 24 micro ducts in one bundle. Micro ducts are designed and produced for the use over a very long period of time – at least 50 years – and enable optical fibre cables to be installed and replaced until the end of the useful life of the product.

MultiHöhle micro duct bundle has a skin made of polyethylene. This holds the individual SingleHöhle micro ducts together as one bundle and makes installation into the ground or into the existing duct easier. Bundles installed into the ground include tracing wire as well. Isolated copper wire with copper diameter 0,8 mm (cross section of copper 0,5 mm2) is used.

DB-class or Direct Bury MultiHöhle pipes are compiled from thick wall SingleHöhle micro ducts designed to tolerate the load arising from installation in the ground, while DI-class or Direct Install MultiHöhle products are made up of SingleHöhle micro ducts meant for installation inside of cable channels.

The inner surface of the SingleHöhle micro ducts used in MultiHöhle bundles has qualities that make installing optical fibre cables easier – longitudinal grooves and selected silicon-based materials reduce the frictional resistance between the inner surface of the micro duct and the outer surface of the optical fibre cable to a minimum. These qualities are retained throughout the useful life of the product. This enables optical fibre cables to be installed using the blowing method where great lengths of cable – ranging from 1000-2000 or even more metres – are laid in one go.

The MultiHöhle range comprises bundles of micro ducts of different numbers and diameters. The colour of the coating used to keep the bundle together is generally orange, but other colours can be used according to the customer needs. Micro ducts arranged in a bundle come in many colours and are available as single-colour items or in natural white with coloured stripes. They are packed on wooden drums.

Micro ducts meet all of the requirements of the EN 50411-6-1, EN 60794 and IEC 60794 standards.
